L'ARCHE asbl est née en 1988, c'est un centre d'hébergement et de revalidation pour animaux indigènes et exotiques.
En 1989 le centre est reconnu comme SPA ( société protectrice des animaux ) par le C.N.P.A. ( conseil national pour la protection animale) ainsi que d'utilité public.
L'ARCHE est la seul SPA en Belgique à recueillir des animaux exotiques.
Pour certains animaux, l'Arche est un compromis entre une détention dans de mauvaises conditions et/ou illégales et une liberté devenue impossible.
Les comportements de l'animal et ceux du propriétaire sont deux mondes difficiles à réunir sous un même toit.
Mais de tels désirs humains suppriment à tout jamais leurs libertés, les relâcher serait donc une condamnation à mort. D.F

Tintin L'ours à collier la doyenne du centre a 38 ans qui prend la pose sur la première page de notre site, Simba le lion et roi du refuge, Toye et Wassana les tigresses, Poppy le renne, Raptou un des nombreux raton-laveur, Teiga la femelle de puma, Bouba le coati et bien d'autres encore.
Ils ont tous des histoires à vous raconter et pas toujours pour en rire.

The non-profit organisation " THE ARC " was established in 1988, it's a shelter for native and exotic animals, as well as the release back into the wild for some of them.
Consent Certificate N° HK30221818
In 1989 the centre was recognised as an SPCA ( Society for the Protection of Anmals ) by the National animal Protection Council, as well as for public use.
The Arc is the only SPCA in Belgium to receive animals. It should also be known that we do not have any animal reproducing itself.
For certain animals, The Arc is a compromise between being indetention in bad conditions and/or being kept illegally so that their freedom has become impossible.
The behaviour of the animal and that of the owner are two difficult worlds to combine under one roof.
But from such supreme human desire to always give them their freedom, the released animals would then be condemned to death, as they're now accustomed to human assistance.

Tintin, the bear with the collar, is the senior of the centre, is 38 years old and takes pride of place on our web site. Simba the lion and kingof our refuge, Toy and Wassana the tigresses, Poppy the reindeer, Raptou one of the numerous raccoons, Teiga the female puma, Bouba the coati, a South American mammal species similar to the raccoon, and many more.
The have some stories to tell you and not always to make one laugh. ( FD )
